General Life Update

We've had a lot going on the last few weeks, so pardon me if I ramble. Where to begin? 2 weekends ago Matt and I got up early on Sunday morning and went to see Casino Royale, the new James Bond 007 movie. It was really good. My basic review is pretty similar to what all the critics have said, "It's grittier, and less refined than previous Bond movies!" I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of 007 or likes action movies.

The movie let out right at 1:00 and we had to rush home to watch the Bengals game. Since we were taping the game, we made a quick stop at Subway. The game was playing in the back room on the radio and I made a comment to Matt about not wanting to hear it. The "kid" working behind the counter looked and me funny and I explained we were taping it and that I didn't want to hear it so we could watch it when we got home. Well, wouldn't you know, the little snit smirked, and announced that the game was tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter. I wanted to come over the counter and smack him I was so mad. What a little shit.

Mon - Wed were spent gearing up for the holiday weekend. Thursday Matt and I got up and watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It was fun to watch all the children's shows/performers and swear that we would never let our children succumb to such horrific and annoying entertainment. Check back in 2 years for how that all worked out for us. I made deviled eggs and we headed to Mom and Gran's house for dinner. It was awesome. Plus, we got to inspect the Whitman's new SUV in the daylight. Sweet ride! The day was pretty uneventful, but we surely compensated that evening.

Sarah and Kevin went home so they could volunteer at the animal shelter, and they stopped by our house to let our dogs out. Matt and I stayed at Mom's and took a nap to gear up for our Black Friday shopping expedition. The Prime Oulets at Jeffersonville were advertising the first year of opening at Midnight on Thanksgiving. For some crazy reason, Matt, Mom and I thought it would be a good idea to check it out. We left Middletown around 11 pm and started on our journey. Around 11:45 we were within minutes of the outlet mall, or so we thought. In fact, we were about 3 miles away. Not a big deal, if traffic weren't insane. At approximately 1 am, Friday, we were 2 miles away from the outlet mall. Because I am pregnant, and was driving, we decided to abort the mission to find a restroom. After passing the outlets, we found a rest stop and regrouped. Matt and I found a back way to the outlets using the map at the rest stop. Needless to say, it was still no cake walk, but we arrived at the outlets at approx 2:30 in the morning and only threatened to kill each other a few times along the way.

There were many deals to be found, and we shopped until after 6:30 in the morning with only 1 McDonald's stop in the middle. It was crazy. I probably won't be doing this next year, but it's a fun memory. Matt had to work all weekend (including Friday night on only 6 hours sleep after the shop fest the night before) so I spent the weekend recovering.

We've also been getting fun baby gifts from people. Mom and Seth got us a Curious George firefighter stuffed animal that's adorable. Matt's grandmother made us a precious white baby quilt that we will treasure. And, we splurged and bought a baby Bengals outfit. It wasn't very expensive (about $20) and I had a gift card to babies r us to use from my birthday.

That's the latest in the Hulme camp. We have another ultrasound and OB appointment on 12/4 so I will post more then.
