The Highchair Chronicles

Casey has had a lot of "firsts" recently that just happened to take place in his highchair.

Casey is learning to use a spoon. In fact, sometimes he refuses to eat unless you let him feed himself. This is an attempt at eating Taco Bell pintos and cheese. It is a good starter food b/c it sticks to the spoon.

Matt and I recently bought Casey these new Crayola Tadoodles crayons. They are made so you can palm them instead of the typical way you hold a crayon. Casey was more interested in tipping them over than actually coloring. I found that if I taped the coloring book page to his high chair he left it in place. This same tecnique did not apply when I taped his masterpiece to the fridge.

Going along with the "feeding himself" theme, Casey has taken to eating his bannana like an adult.

And, the piece de resistance...Casey eating spaghetti on his own for the first time.

I wish we could have captured the face he made when he ate his first lemon in his highchair at Thai Taste Saturday night!

My parents and Steve and I took Katie to the Crayola Factory last weekend. I was eyeballin' those baby crayons for Casey. They didn't have them when Katie was that age, and they looked so cool... Looks like he enjoyed them :-)
